Brooooooooooce!

Yesterday was a good day for two special reasons 1) Hubert's birthday and 2) Bruce!

I'm not going to attempt to write a review of the night (actually writing about music irks me considerably, it's near impossible to do well), so anyone interested would do well to read this instead.  This was my first time seeing Bruce live, as I couldn't go last time he toured (which was a long time ago).  I hope it's not my last time...come back soon Bruce, we love you.

Want

I found these letterpress posters via Ms Cate's blog.
I want this one.

I can relate, in fact it might be the new blog name for a while.

More love

Went to see this fella last night. Most of Australia have no idea who he is, but I seriously adore him.
Apart from being a great songwriter, singer and musician, he engages with the audience in a way I've never encountered before. I went to get an autograph after the show (Hubert had to push me to, I was too shy) and I'm sure I babbled something non-sensical to him, although I do remember shaking his hand and telling him he should move himself and his elderly parents to Australia.
Seriously who could not love a guy that:
- tells you stories about how his Hawthorn beanie started a fight at a Geelong gig, resulting in someone's tit flying out of their top
- sings you a song called "Hand Job on the Church Bus" and gets you to join in with singing and gestures during the chorus
- nipple rubs an audience member
- plays poems and songs from his iphone that his 81 year dad has sent him
and
- makes us all hug our neighbour during the final song.
Love the Poltz.

I agree

I love this. Big time.

Although perhaps it should be "Home is where my dog is..."

~ chewing up things in the backyard

~ snorfing under the backdoor to get in

~ skidding on the polished floorboards

~ dropping the odd stinky fart

~ chasing the cats up and down the hallway

~ living in hope that any food in the house ends up in his mouth

~ looking for hugs from his humans

~ snoring on the rug on his back with his legs in the air.

Sunny days

Nothing much to say today apart from how much I'm enjoying the current Spring weather. I like lots of warm sunshine and even a stormy night.
And here's a picture I found on Tumblr, just beause I like it.

Love day 5

Craft LOVE

Teary

Further to Drewzel's hunt for a new villa ~ which is rapidly becoming a saga in my own lunchbox (as opposed to a legend)...something happened last night which brought me to tears. They were happy tears though (albeit mixed with a bit of self pity) and of course house hunting related.
We all remember my wee one bedroom housie that I gave blog love to the other day...well I was MSN-ing last night to the Fella (aka Hubert Cumberdale) and he said "what about your dream house? why don't you just get that?" ...I said "what? the little one I blogged? but it's only one bedroom!" To which he replied "but it's your dream house, if you love it, try and get that one. as long as there's a space for a pullout bed for Miss C, we'll make it work. at least go and look at it."

Perhaps you may be thinking, 'oh so he told her to inspect a house, big whoop'...but that is not the point. That is not what made me cry. What made me cry was the gesture of kindness, the fact that for the first instance I can remember for a long time, someone involved closely in my life has just suggested that I try and get what I want, not compromise, be practical or do something to suit their agenda. Someone is willing to just try and make me happy. To me, that's a big thing.

PS. I may go and look at wee housie on Saturday... but I still have an odd feeling about the house I linked to yesterday. You know I'll update you.

Love - Day 6

I know I'm not alone in today's thing that I love ... we all love a letter, a card, a parcel, anything in our mailbox to remind us that someone's thinking of us*.

Mail LOVE.

The real love countdown is at Toni's place, go there, yay!

[image source...and a super gorgeous dog]

* banks, utility companies and the like don't count. They're thinking of our $$, not of us.

Day 7 love

In my house hunting, I found this little house in Ballarat. It's totally impractical really as it's only a one bedroom house... but I thought I'd grab the picture as it's representative of my architecture LOVE.

Love day 9

Song writer love.

There's a pillar in the temple where I carved your name
There's a soul sitting sad and blue
Now the remedies you've taken are all in vain
Let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do

Darling I can't stop the rain
Or turn your black sky blue
Well let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do

Well now our truth lay shattered, you stood at world's end
As the dead sun rose in view
Well if any of this matters, with a kiss my friend
Let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do

Darling we can't stop this train
When it comes crashing through
But let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do

When the bed you lie on is nails and rust
And the love you've given's turned to ashes and dust
When the hope you've gathered's drifted to the wind
And it's you and I my friend (you and I my friend)
You and I now friend

Here our memory lay corrupted and our city lay dry
Let me make this vow to you
Here where it's blood for blood and an eye for an eye
Let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do

Here we bear the mark of Cain
We'll let the light shine through
Let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do

Love - Day 11

This was one of last week's crafty projects, but I didn't want to mention it yesterday, lest I spoil the surprise for the recipient. They have now received their pressie, so I can share. (Pattern from Sublime Stitching.)

LOVE your guts.

12 days of love

Now you all know I heart Toni, and pop over every day to see what's in the Little Suitcase. And today she warmed my old cockles by starting the 12 Days of LOVE.
I immediately wanted to play along. 12 days of love from me, which will make a change from my usual malaise.

Given that I had just taken this photo, as I'd only now bought them across the street when getting my morning coffee ($5 a bunch, gotta like that!) ...

Day 12: LOVE roses.
