Found via Ms Cate... "Bloggers Without Make up Day" ~ so here's random pic of me today, sans makeup. Actually this isn't a big deal for me, as I'm normally too lazy of late to care about slapping some on anyway. Hope I don't scare you too much, with my scars and bags and blue lips. But it is a valid point, that women should feel they can be themselves whatever they look like, and that makeup should be an optional enhancement and feel good tool, rather than a requirement.

I think you're plenty beautiful without makeup :). I don't see blue lips or scars. Bags . . . who doesn't have them?!! I don't find them unattractive; they're a real part of life for most people.
ReplyDeleteAfter being a no-makeup gal for several years (after having been a full-on makeup gal for many years before that), I've just recently started using brow mascara because, with age, my eyebrows have started to lighten. And I've discovered the fun of tinted lipgloss. So now when I venture out and about, if I remember I'll throw on the brow mascara and lipgloss . . . but if I don't remember, that's okay too.
Whenever I feel self-doubt creep in about how I look without makeup, I pay particular attention to men my age and older -- I find their faces interesting and, generally, quite attractive, and I rarely hear them complaining about the life that shows on their faces. That's the attitude I go for nowadays!
