Weathered by time

Coming from country Victoria, as I do, I grew up seeing heaps of these sort of buildings in the paddocks. They always intrigued me, ever since I was a little kidlet. Who lived there? I'd try and imagine the house in it's heyday, when it was full of people and life.

Can you imagine the family sitting around the fireplace at night? I can.

A couple of Christmases back, I remember seeing this one and taking a photo... accidentally coming across this pic on Flickr today reminded me:

Here's my pic, taken Boxing Day 2007 (from the car):

Still there, still beautiful. Well I think so.

  3. I always, always think the same thoughts when I drive past run down, crumbling buildings.
At one time, somebody loved it and lived in it. I also want to know what happened. Where did the people go.
I have always wanted a crumbling shack to restore and put love back into. So much nicer than brand spanking new.

  4. The last two pics are they from the Smeaton aarea? They look familiar... Great photos, its a shame some of the Old Grand houses haven't lasted the years and are crumbling...

Oh hello! I do like a wee comment, that way I know you exist!
Sorry I had to turn the ANNOYING word verification back on, but I've been getting too much spam lately. :(
